JSCC Easter Egg Hunt

JSCC to Host Easter Egg Drop for Community Featuring 75,000+ eggs, largest egg drop in West Tennessee JACKSON, TENN. – Jackson State Community College (JSCC) Athletics is set to host the largest Easter Egg Hunt and Egg Drop in West Tennessee on Saturday, April 19, 2025. The event will take place across from JSCC’s Ned. R McWherter Center located at 37 Alumni Drive, Jackson, TN, 38301. Festivities will begin at 10 a.m., with the egg drop taking place at 11 a.m. Kids of all ages can enjoy a variety of activities during the event, including: Egg drops for all age groups – Five Age-Specific Zones 0-2 years old 3-5 years old 6-9 years old 10-13 years old 14 years and older Food trucks and local vendors Games and music Free admission to the Green Jays baseball game, beginning at Noon Admission to the event is free, and everyone from Madison County and West Tennessee is encouraged to attend. 'Anytime we can bring our community together on campus for a day of fun and excitement is a win,' said JSCC Athletic Director Dr. Kevin Lynum. “We’re dedicated to fostering a stronger, enjoyable, and safer community and this event gives us a chance to make an impact in the lives of families in our community.” Interested in vendor opportunities or would like to help sponsor this event? Henderson County Music Experience

If you love music, you will love the integral role it has played in Henderson County. Johnny Cash performed at the very first Festival of the Lakes — back then known as the Water Festival. W.S. “Fluke” Holland, who lived in Henderson County, was a drummer for Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash and the Million Dollar Quartet; he is known around the world as a true pioneer of American Rockabilly, country, folk and rock n’ roll. Henderson County native Murray Franklin “Buddy” Cannon, is a musician, songwriter and producer who has worked with Shania Twain, Sammy Kershaw, Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss, Billy Ray Cyrus and Kenny Chesney.

 

You’ll find other notable musicians from Henderson County, including Cynthia Rhodes, best known for her role in the movie “Dirty Dancing;” Larry Campbell, an instrumentalist who has worked with Sheryl Crow, B.B. King, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson and others; Whitney Duncan, a singer/songwriter from Scotts Hill; Raymond Parker Creasy, Jr., a former state banjo champion; Jonathan Singleton, a country music singer/songwriter and famous composer Ronnie Hughes.
