Position Objective:
The Associate Accountant will provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. You will be working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances. The goal of the position is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and help the company be fully aware of its financial position to ensure that it can make the right decisions and accomplish long term success.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Post assigned journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
Maintain and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts.
Assist in overseeing and tracking fixed assets throughout their lifecycle.
Ensure accurate recording and reporting of fixed asset transactions.
Lead and conduct fixed asset audits.
Monitor and analyze expenses related to plant operations and optimize cost efficiency.
Work as a liaison with AP and AR shared services.
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable aging.
Process prepayment invoices, confidential invoices, and create wire payments.
Ensures bi-weekly payment runs occur on time and are accurate.
Assist in payroll timekeeping activities.
Provide backup support for payroll coordinator.
Assist with other accounting projects
Experience/Skills:
Knowledge of GAAP & IFRS
Understanding of financial statements
Experience with ERP software a plus
Excellent MS Office skills, including proficient Excel skills
Self-motivated, proactive, flexible

Preferred experience in an accounting role
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or Bachelor’s in Business with an emphasis in Accounting.
